Adswood Primary Wins Outstanding Support for Students Award

We are incredibly proud to share that Adswood Primary School is celebrating success after winning the Outstanding Support for Students award at the Manchester Education Awards 2026.

The award recognises the school’s exceptional commitment to supporting every child and its dedication to creating a truly inclusive, nurturing environment where all pupils feel safe, valued and able to thrive. It also reflects the strong relationships built with families and the compassionate, child‑centred approach embedded across the school.

The recent ceremony took place at the Hilton Deansgate Hotel, bringing together nominated schools from across the region to celebrate excellence in education. Amie Rylance, mum of pupil Alfie, whose nomination contributed to the school’s success, attended the event alongside Headteacher Michelle Smart and members of the Adswood team. The event was also attended by the school nurse, Rachel Donnelly, showcasing how the school works collaboratively with other agencies to achieve the very best outcomes for its pupils.

Having officially joined our Trust in March 2026, this represents a proud moment for the school as it begins its next chapter as part of our family of schools.

Headteacher Michelle Smart said:

We are absolutely delighted to receive this award. It is a true reflection of the dedication, compassion and commitment shown by our staff every single day. At Adswood, we pride ourselves on knowing our children and families well and ensuring that every child feels supported, valued and able to succeed.

A Parent’s Voice

The nomination was made by Amie Rylance, mum of pupil Alfie, whose experience reflects the impact of the school’s work. She said:

They really have been our family. Moving our son to Adswood was the best decision we ever made. The staff welcomed us like family and went above and beyond every day to support him. Their care, compassion and dedication are extraordinary. Adswood has made an incredibly challenging journey easier for our whole family.

This award is a testament to the dedication of staff, the strength of the community and the school’s unwavering belief that every child deserves the opportunity to flourish.
