Holden Clough Families Learn Life-Saving First Aid Skills
In a proactive step toward community safety, Holden Clough Primary School in Ashton under Lyne, recently hosted a 90-minute Paediatric First Aid Workshop, empowering families with critical life-saving skills. Delivered by Cookson’s First Aid, the session welcomed 20 enthusiastic parents and carers, eager to learn how to handle emergencies effectively.
The hands-on training covered essential techniques, including:
• Recognising the signs of cardiac arrest
• Performing CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) for infants and children
• Proper use of a defibrillator
• Managing choking incidents and prevention strategies
Attendees praised the workshop for its practicality and real-life application. One parent shared, ‘You hope never to need these skills, but I now feel far more confident, that if faced with a life-threatening situation, I’d know what to do.’
