Poplar Street Pupils Proudly Showcase Their Artwork

Poplar Street Primary School turned its school hall into a colourful art gallery as pupils proudly displayed their artwork.

Parents, carers and families were invited into school to look at a wide range of artwork from children in Nursery, Reception, Year 3 and Year 4.

Nursery children created self-portraits on top of printed backgrounds, while Reception children painted pictures of animals or flowers on canvas using acrylic paints.

Year 3 pupils created prehistoric artwork using natural materials, and Year 4 focused on sustainability. Their 3D artwork was made using recyclable materials, while their 2D pieces explored the importance of looking after our planet.

The exhibition gave pupils the chance to share their work and celebrate their creativity.

The hall was decorated to showcase the children’s artwork, with each display highlighting the effort and imagination that had gone into every piece. Pupils enjoyed showing visitors around the gallery and talking about their favourite creations.

Headteacher Helen Fletcher said:

“We are very proud of all the children and the enthusiasm they have shown during art lessons. It was lovely to see them so excited to share their work with their families.”

Families praised the event and enjoyed seeing the variety of artwork on display. The gallery created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, while giving children the opportunity to feel proud of their achievements.

The event was a wonderful celebration of creativity and brought the whole school community together.
